No17-04/2023-24illCS&D Dated: 10.11.2023 Subject: Constitution of Curricular Area Group: Social Science (including History, Geography, Political Science, Sociology and Psychology) As a follow-up of the National Education Policy (NEP), 2020, the National Curriculum Framework for School Education (NCF-SE) has been developed under the guidance of the National Steering Committee and was released by NCERT on 23 rd August, 2023. NCF-SE serves as a reference point and guiding roadmap for the syllabus and textbook developers for school education all over the country. As a follow-up ofNCF-SE, the National Curriculum Framework Oversight Committee (NOC) and National Syllabus and Teaching-Leaming Material Committee (NSTC) have been constituted and notified on 2l81 July, 2023. Under NSTC, as per its Terms of Reference, Curricular Area Groups will develop subject-wise syllabi and Teaching-Leaming Materials (TLM), including textbooks that incorporate cross- curricular themes. Curricular Area Group: Social Science (including History, Geography, Political Science, Sociology and Psychology) is hereby constituted with the following members. This Group will develop Syllabi and Teaching-Leaming Material for Grades 6-12
